We are thrilled to announce an upcoming opportunity for students to present their scholarly and creative projects in a unique format! The Office of Undergraduate Research is hosting the annual Creative Collaborations Showcase in this new format for the second year. This two-day event will take place on April 8 and April 10 during Torero Hours in the Learning Commons Town Square as part of USD’s Research Month. Students will present their projects in a short presentation with six slides that automatically advance after 20 seconds (known as Pecha-Kucha-style presentations). The format allows students to present their project to a broad audience and for the audience to experience the breadth of research and creative works taking place across the many disciplines of our campus.
Students interested in presenting their projects can submit their slides/abstracts from February 19 until the submission deadline on March 19 at 11:59 pm. Students will have the opportunity to indicate their time preference for their presentation in the submission form. Guidelines, resources, and videos of past presentations are available to support students here. Please note that presenting at the Creative Collaborations Showcase should not be a course requirement.
We will be hosting two Creative Collaborations Showcase Presentation Workshops on February 27 and March 4 to provide general presentation tips as well as additional support to prepare students for the Creative Collaborations Showcase. Students can RSVP here.
Please help us spread the word (see attached) about this student opportunity and encourage your peers (or students) to present their projects! We invite students from all disciplines to participate.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Warmly,
Tim Clark and Andrea Machado
