Dear Faculty,
The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is hosting a Faculty STARBURST Application Workshop on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 12:15 - 1:30 pm in Learning Commons 103. Come join us and learn about the STARBURST program and how to apply to mentor a STAR/BURST student. We will provide a descrption of the program and tips to support you for this upcoming application cycle!
The STARBURST program provides paid summer research opportunities to USD students and faculty in all disciplines. The faculty mentor is a key component of any research or creative project as they provide the skills and guidance for students to complete a project. STAR and BURST mentors are expected to meet with the scholar at least once a week in person, set personalized goals for the scholar to develop their project, and provide opportunities for the scholar to advance professionally.
