Hi everyone, Hope your summer is going well! It's time for our annual chemical inventory. Please *complete an inventory of your research lab by August 3rd*. You can find your lab's Google Sheet here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WCm1q_RLsQXfyh8WpCJi_oj5CFyi80Ro?usp..., and the folder is also in our Bio Dept Shared Drive. This year, our building has started using the Global Harmonized System (GHS) to comply with legal requirements. Therefore, Keith's office has converted the existing inventories to that system and I've updated your inventory accordingly. Your new inventory now includes: - An updated inventory, - An "old inventory" tab showing your previous inventory, - A "GHS Hazard Codes" tab with a table of common GHS codes and a link to the full list. Please update your inventory https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WCm1q_RLsQXfyh8WpCJi_oj5CFyi80Ro?usp... in the following ways: - Update the amounts of current chemicals - Remove chemicals that are no long present - Add any new chemicals - Use the SDS of a new chemical to find its GHS code: - The code is under Section 2 of the SDS and it starts with "H" (e.g., H317). - If only hazard statements are listed (e.g., May cause an allergic skin reaction), use the "GHS Hazard Codes" tab in your Google Sheet to look up the corresponding H-code. [image: image.png] I understand that this process can be confusing, so please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your time and effort in advance! Hi everyone,
I hope your week is off to a great start! Here's a friendly reminder
to *complete
your chemical inventory by August 3rd*.
I know transitioning to the Global Harmonized System (GHS) for labeling
chemical hazards can be a bit confusing, so please don't hesitate to let me
know if you have any questions.
Thank you very much for your efforts!
Take care,
Angela
