Subject: Chemistry Department Federal Work Study Job Opening
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is hiring a *Lab
Assistant A* work study position for
this academic year to assist our lab technicians. In order to qualify for
this position, you must have been awarded Federal Work Study in your
financial aid package and have taken or are currently enrolled in the CHEM
151 series.
Sample duties include:
• Check Chem 151L/152L lab stations and reagents and replenish as needed
• Fill deionized water carboys
• Assist in basic inventory control
• Replenish demonstration kits
• Type, photocopy, cut and paste miscellaneous assignments
• Take down Chem 151/152 experiments
• Wash and put away glassware
• Assist with departmental tasks as needed, including social media
Hours are based upon your availability but average to about 10-12 hours per
week and pay will be $17.75/hr, effective 1/1/26.
