Thanks Bryan.

I was informed that the 133 were deleted from Webdam, but were tagged in the tool. I'm asking the team if this means that all deleted Webdam assets are still visible in the tool, or if it could be that assets are also frozen (similar to the taxonomy) when the tool is created.

Hi Christina and Stephanie,

I will go into bynder and take a look and alert everyone to do the same.

I wonder if those 133 assets that failed to migrate could be because of required fields that are set, unless that is disabled in the import?

Bryan

Good morning Bryan,

The initial push of 5,000 assets yesterday was so successful that the team got excited and proceeded to migrate the remaining assets. Only 133 assets failed to migrate, and we have an open ticket for the investigation of these specific files.

My team advised that while we are looking into the failed assets, the "Request to Migrate" button might temporarily be unclickable. However, you can continue tagging any remaining assets, and let Stephanie and me know when they are ready. We can then manually initiate the migration process for those batches.

Could you please confirm that the data on the successfully migrated assets appears correct on your end?

Thank you so much,

Good afternoon Bryan,

We're with you and absolutely understand your frustration. We've been pushing internally as much as we can and hoping for some progress as well.

Here is the status:
  • The new tooling has been overloaded with multiple simultaneous migrations. Our dev team initially only allowed one migration at a time. As of yesterday, it has allowed for multiple, which should help alleviate the backlog. Our team confirmed that an initial push of 5000 of your assets is scheduled for today.
  • We want to validate that this initial push of 5000 assets works before proceeding with the rest of the migration. I have requested a better timeline from our dev team about the ~15000 assets that have already been tagged, as well as the ability to request a migration for the remaining assets.
  • Now that we've finally gotten this first push started, if anything breaks, I will be escalating this internally.
I'm constantly checking the progress and requesting updates. As soon as I hear anything after this first push, I will let you know immediately. I truly appreciate your patience throughout as our team has continuously identified bugs with the new tooling. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Christina and Stephanie,

I see we have movement ….  We have, apparently migrated 2 assets, but the request butt on is still grayed out.   I am now looking for the following:
  • status update on the migration issue
  • Best estimate of when the migration issue will be fully addressed.

This issue has been going on for right around a month, and I am now moving from concerned to frustrated.  We need a resolution on this that is something faster than a snails pace, “the developers are working on the issue”, and excuses about what other migrations are going on that are slowing our migration down.
