March Web Tip: How to Display Videos
We have had several questions over the past month regarding videos and the media component, including how to get the correct video link as well as the different display options that are offered.
Media Component - Videos
The media component can display images and videos, so if a video is desired, please select the "Video" option and all of the video fields will become available. Those fields include selecting what type of video hosting service being used as well as the "video URL" field.
Video Embed URLs
To display videos in the media component, the "embed URL" for the video is needed. Video hosting services, like YouTube and Vimeo, can generate embed code and that is where the embed URL can be found.
For YouTube videos, select "Share" and then "Embed" and then copy the generated URL as seen in the image below (that is the "embed URL" for the video). Once that embed URL is copied, go over to Cascade and paste the URL in the media component's "video URL" field.
Additional Display Options and Settings
There are additional settings that can impact the media component itself, such as changing the size of the component or changing the type of display (a list, carousel or grid). All of those options can be found near the bottom of the component, and any options selected can be seen in Cascade's preview mode as well.
