Sidebar Navigation
Update
Later
this week on Thursday, the right-hand navigation menus on the USD website
will undergo a noticeable upgrade. Based on usability testing and
maintainer feedback to improve the user experience, the change will allow
for tiered dropdown menus and improved visibility in the navigation for
nested pages.
No action is required from you, please feel free to continue
editing your pages as needed. The upgrade will apply to the latest
navigations for your site(s) on Wednesday, November 1st.
Editing and Review
This is a
great time to review your navigation titles and make updates as needed. You
are free to continue editing navigation titles and the rest of your pages
at your convenience.
Next Steps
Once the
upgrade is made, you will notice the ability to see a dropdown menu (for
the horizontal navigation on your main pages) along with improved
visibility for your nested pages in the right-hand navigation areas.
Examples of this are visible in a staging enviroment, found on this Student
Financial Services page, as well as this Endowments
page. This new feature indicates the ability to collapse and show or
hide a section, while also displaying the hierarchy of the nested pages
within the section.
Browser Caching and Questions
If you
don't notice the change or notice anything amiss, please first manually refresh your cache for that page or test
in a new incognito window (to help avoid potential caching issues) to
confirm.
If you
have any questions please let us know via our online web request
form.
Thank
you,
