November Web Tip: Updating Your Website
As we near the end of this shortened semester, it is important to review and update your web presence. This is especially true with daily coronavirus-related changes that impact the university community.
What You Should Do:
Now is the time to make sure that the websites you maintain are up-to-date and provide the correct and current information to your users. Providing correct and relevant information is vital to all members of the university community, including students and parents.
Examples:
- Updating any coronavirus-related information for your team and department.
- Deleting documents that are older than 5 years old - or not being used on web pages.
- Making sure your links to current information and newsletters are correct.
- Reviewing and confirming contact information - so that users can still access your services and contact your staff if you are working remotely or remain on-campus.
Workflow Reminder:
As you begin to review and submit edits to the websites you maintain, please keep in mind that every edit goes through workflow. The workflow process allows for content review (from your team) and technical review by University Web Services. We strive to actively review and expedite workflows in technical review, many times a day, but please allow for a 24-hour turnaround time.
If there are urgent workflows with time-sensitive content, please submit a web request via our online web request form and we can help expedite.
