October Web Tip: Asset Versioning
In the past month, we have received a number of inquiries regarding how to access previous page versions within Cascade. This includes simply viewing older versions, in addition to reverting back to those versions. We include some information below, but for step-by-step details please view this asset versioning guide at your convenience.
Asset Versioning:
- Never delete a version as it can not be restored.
- Asset versioning allows you to view, compare and revert back to any published version of the asset. This includes pages, images and documents.
- Each version displays the author, timestamp and comments (if any). Comments are usually auto-generated and very brief.
- If you revert back to a version, it will be an immediate change in Cascade but you will need to wait until the asset publishes again before it goes "live." If you revert back to a previous version, it does not require workflow as it was already approved and published.
Please note that the web team can help expedite asset publishing upon request, via our online web request form. Otherwise, all sites are set to automatically publish every 24 hours (starting at midnight).
If you have any questions please let us know via our online web request form.
Thank you,
