January Web Tip: A USD 2.0 Update
The Web
Team hopes you had a great holiday break and we wish you a happy New Year!
To kick off the new year, we wanted to provide an update on the "USD 2.0"
project. You can also reference our USD Website Redesign website
for the latest information on the university's ongoing digital
efforts.
Academic Redesigns
In terms
of academic
website redesigns, we have completed three sites (Kroc, CAS, Engineering), three are
underway (Copley, Business, and Nursing), and we expect to begin the
remaining two before the end of the year (SOLES, Law).
Department Transitions
We're
also continuing our department transitions, which involve the migration of
150 websites for non-academic, administrative department websites to the
new design. We are now at 113 completed or underway sites, marking our
progress at 75%.
Moving
forward, please expect our team to contact you regarding a site transition,
if the site you maintain has not yet been transitioned. You can also check
our online
transition list as we continue to add dates. The process is rather
straightforward and does generally rely on the current site's
content.
Cascade Maintainer Training
Due to
the new components, features and layout options within the new 2.0
template, there is a Cascade CMS 2.0 training that covers these topics. For
those who have already completed Cascade 1.0 training, there is a brief
"transition" training that covers the new changes. For users who would
be brand new to Cascade, we have a more in-depth and complete
Cascade 2.0 training. When the site that you maintain is transitioned
to the 2.0 design, we will reach out to you and confirm your access or if
any additional training may be required.
