Good morning, Cascade web maintainers,

A new version of Cascade CMS was released to us today, version 8.11. We apologize that we didn't send out a notice before the upgrade took place, as we normally do. But the upgrade went smoothly but there are now a few changes and new features that we want to bring to your attention.

The "Save & Preview" button is now just "Preview Draft", but it accomplishes the same thing as before: it let's you preview your work, saves it as a draft, and then you still have the option to submit your changes to workflow. Here is what it looks like now. It is just a simple name change.

Second, you can now add words to your Cascade dictionary. Original Cascade users from a few years back may remember this feature, but it disappeared for several versions. Well it's back! This dictionary is custom to your unique user account, so feel free to add any common words you encounter in the spell check all the time, such as acronyms unique to our university, people's names, etc. It will ensure those words and acronyms no longer pester in the spell checker you each time you try to save your content. Here is what you will now see.

Last, the accessibility check for tables in the above screenshot is now more user friendly as well. If you have one or multiple tables on a page that are missing their summaries (captions), the accessibility check has always prompted you to enter the captions before submitting to workflow. But now there is a link for each table titled "View Non-Compliant Content" that if you click will show the offending table.

Please note that it will show the HTML code of the table and you cannot edit the content there, but if you visually scan the code you will see the content you entered into your table, allowing you to quickly identify which table needs a caption without having to guess or go back into edit mode on your page. Then simply click "Fix" and enter an appropriate and descriptive summary of your table's contents. Here is what you will now see.
